The 12th annual Equine Affaire in the Northeast will draw tens of thousands of horsepeople to enjoy a world-class educational program and extensive trade show, as well as an entertaining and informative competition.

2009 EVENT DATES:
Equine Affaire will return to Eastern States Exposition in W. Springfield, MA, November 12–15, 2009. Advance tickets will go on sale beginning Monday, July 13th, at 9:00am ET.

Training Clinics, Seminars & Demonstrations

The 2009 Equine Affaire in W. Springfield will feature more than 60 in-depth clinics conducted by many of the nation's foremost trainers, coaches, and competitors in three separate clinic arenas. More than 65 seminars and demonstrations will also be offered in the Seminar Stage and Demo Ring to cover subjects as wide-ranging as natural and alternative therapies, stable management, nutrition, and first aid techniques. Many clinicians at Equine Affaire accepted horses and riders through the Ride With The Best program.
2009 Roster of Outstanding Presenters

 

The Equine Affaire Versatile Horse & Rider Competition

This thrilling competition, held on Friday, Saturday and Sunday in the Coliseum, will be a timed and judged pursuit through an obstacle course which is created to test each competitor's horsemanship skills. The competition will be open to adult riders of all disciplines and horses of all breeds. Tommy Garland will serve as the special guest commentator for this year's competition as participants compete for thousands of dollars in cash and prizes.

 

Trade Show

Equine Affaire will host the largest trade show of any horse expo in the East! Attendees will explore five buildings totaling acres of exhibit space representing a full range of horse-related products and services.

 

Breed Pavilion & Horse & Farm Exhibits

The Breed Pavilion will showcase major breeds of horses as well as several unique breeds. The Horse & Farm Exhibits area in C-Barn will feature a vast number of stallions, horse breeding farms, and training facilities.

 

Youth Pavilion

The Arabian Horse Association Youth Pavilion will be a special place for horse-crazy kids of all ages. Horsepeople will enjoy the educational and horse-related exhibits, presentations by many of today's most popular educators, demonstrations by various horse breeds, a Celebrity Horse Showcase, and plenty of fun activities for kids!

 

Pfizer Fantasia

The Pfizer Fantasia—A Musical Celebration of the Horse—will take place Thursday, Friday, and Saturday evenings in the Coliseum. It will be a truly dazzling celebration of the horse and something for the whole family to enjoy. Tickets go on sale July 13th. Tickets not sold in advance will be sold at the event from the Information Booth in the Better Living Center beginning at 9:00am on Thursday, November 12th.

 

ARIA Test Center

Equine Affaire is an American Riding Instructors Association (ARIA) test center. Testing will be held on Saturday, November 14, 2009, at the Eastern States Exposition. World Championship Blacksmiths Regional Competition

The World Championship Blacksmiths Regional Competition IV will again be held in conjunction with Equine Affaire. A judge's clinic will take place on Thursday, Forging go-rounds will be featured on Thursday and Friday, and Live Shoeing go-rounds will be held on Saturday. Don't miss this chance to be amazed by the craftsmanship and speed of these top blacksmiths.
