EQUINE AFFAIRE TO CELEBRATE 10TH ANNIVERSARY IN NEW ENGLAND THIS NOVEMBER

W. SPRINGFIELD, MA. – Equine Affaire, the premiere horse exposition in North America, returns to the Eastern States Exposition November 8th–11th to celebrate its 10th anniversary in New England. The event’s legendary educational program will include more than 250 different clinics, seminars, and demonstrations by highly renowned national and international trainers, competitors, and coaches including Monty Roberts (Join-Up®), David O’Connor (Eventing), Julie Goodnight (Straightforward Horsemanship), Anne Gribbons and Pam Goodrich (Dressage), Lynn McKenzie (Barrel Racing & Pole Bending), Nona Garson (Hunters/Jumpers), Richard Shrake (Resistance Free® Training, Western Pleasure, Showmanship), Kenny Harlow (Training with Trust), Chris Irwin (General Horsemanship), Larry Poulin (Driving), Stacy Westfall (Reining and General Horsemanship), and many, many more. More than 450 of the nation’s finest equine-related retailers and manufacturers will cover acres of indoor exhibit space at Equine Affaire and comprise the 
largest equine-related trade show in the East.  An extensive Breed Pavilion and informative Youth Pavilion will also be featured at the event. 

The Equine Affaire Versatile Horse & Rider Competition will be introduced at this year’s Equine Affaire and will be held on Saturday and Sunday afternoons in the Coliseum.  This exciting new competition will be a timed and judged race through an obstacle course created to test communication between horse and rider as well as each competitor’s horsemanship skills. The competition will be open to adult riders of all disciplines and horses of all breeds. As the horse and rider teams work through each obstacle they will be judged on several criteria as well as overall performance.  Olympic gold medalist David O’Connor will serve as the special guest commentator for this year’s competition, and participants will compete for thousands of dollars in cash and other prizes. The Pfizer Fantasia—Equine Affaire’s Musical Celebration of the Horse—will take place on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday evenings at Equine Affaire.  Advance tickets for both the Pfizer Fantasia and Equine Affaire will go on sale July 16, 2007! Equine Affaire’s modest general admission includes entry to the trade show and to all clinics, seminars, and demonstrations.
