Colorado
11-year-old
bay Spanish Mustang gelding
Owned
by singer/songwriter Sheryl Crow
Colorado,
a Spanish Mustang, was born wild in the mountains of southern
Montana. He was the son of Shaman, one of the most beautiful and
hardy stallions of the Pryor Mountain herd of Spanish Mustangs.
Colorado's life was not to be one of freedom like his sire or
like Cloud, Wild Stallion of the Rockies. He was removed from
his wild and beautiful mountain home via the BLM and was adopted
at two years of age. As one of the new equine additions to a large
ranch, he was put into the string of horses to be saddle broken.
He was resistant to training and was finally turned out and deemed
a hopeless case. He was to run feral and and fend for himself
for the next 9 years. When the rancher decided to sell out, he
was to be sold at auction. But, the rancher had a change of heart
and gave Ginger Kathrens of the Cloud Foundation a call to see
if she knew of anyone who might want this horse.
When pop
star Sheryl Crow learned of Colorado's story from her friend Ginger
Kathrens, she asked if she could help by adopting him and soon
the little bay horse was on his way to Red Horse Ranch for Equine
Agility training. Sheryl has a passionate heart for horses and,
with her help, Colorado's life has gained a new and deeper meaning.
Although he is still in training to become an exhibition horse,
he will make his debut at Equine Affaire with Imagine A Horse.
Born
and raised in the wild, Shy Boy first met Monty Roberts in 1997.
A mustang horse rounded up by the Bureau of Land Management, Shy
Boy was to be the focal point of a bold experiment: could Monty,
the internationally-known “man who listens to horses,” achieve
Join~Up® in the wild?
Shy
Boy is one of the world’s most beloved equine celebrities. He
is known to millions of viewers of the BBC/PBS series and the
New York Times best-selling book. His image has been emblazoned
on T-shirts, and young girls squeal when they see him. He’s so
popular that Breyer toys created a Shy Boy model horse for collectors!
Quite an amazing life for this small (13.2 hands) horse that probably
never thought he’d be anywhere but roaming the plains of Nevada,
foraging for food.
Shy
Boy resides at Flag Is Up Farms, greeting fans and participating
in various training classes at Monty’s Equestrian Academy. He
also made his debut in the Tournament of Roses parade, televised
to an estimated 10 million people, in 2002 and 2003. A children’s
picture book, young adult book series, and animated television
show featuring Shy Boy’s adventures are all being planned. It
seems he’s not yet done with being famous!
An International
equine superstar, Blanco is best known for his role as wizard
Gandalf the White's legendary horse Shadowfax in the Lord of the
Rings movies The Two Towers and Return of the King.
In addition to these blockbuster movies, he has also appeared
in the well-known Hercules television series and numerous
commercials.
A luminous,
silver-white Andalusian, Blanco is a liberty horse, performing
such behaviors as riding bridleless or charging forward and rearing
on command. Freely and without restraint of halter or bridle,
he responds to the subtle cues of his owner and trainer Cynthia
Royal. Born in Australia and relocated to New Zealand for production
of the movies, he now proudly calls the United States home.
In addition
to his already extensive entertainment career, Blanco is currently
involved in a new TV show and DVD video training series in development
called Horse Talk. He is also gearing up to star in IMAGINE
- Discover the Fantasy - a Las Vegas theatrical show in development.
In the meantime, see him in performances and clinics with Cynthia
throughout North America in 2008 on the Follow Your Dreams! Tour.
